The CWGC shows the following details:
"Son of Tom and Jane Hollings, of 16, Middleton Lane, Rothwell Haigh, Leeds."
Hubert was the son of William Born Middleton Leeds 1869 and Jane Born Stanley Derbyshire 1872.
After leaving Leeeds Boys Modern Hubert became a Mining engineer, moving to South Wales and returned to Rothwell near Wakefield attended Sheffield University to attain his Mine Surveyor Certificate.
In April 1917 Hubert joined the Officer Training Corps at Leeds University and enlisted into the Royal Flying Corps at Farnbrough in September 1917.
Hubert was stationed at Eastwood getting his commision there, and proceeded to france on the 8th August 1918.
Hubert lost his life on the 28th September 1918 carrying out a reconasance mission behind German lines, he was buried by the Germans at Steenbrugge Cemetery near Brugges Belgium. However after the war he was transferred to the Cemetery at Larch Wood near Iepers Belgium.
