Harry was the son of William Born Leeds 1860 and Ann Born Bradford 1857.
Harry left Leeds Boys Modern to work as a Clerk in the Leeds Office of the National Insurance Company.
On the 14th August 1914 Harry joined the 8th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment and went to France with the 49th Division in 1915.
Harry was wounded at Ieper Belgium on the 23rd september 1915 and later in July 1917 Harry was gassed at Nieuport Belgium.
In the September of 1917 Harry was promoted to Sergeant, and transferred to the 6th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment in the February of 1918.
On the 25th April 1918 in the fighting for Kemmel Hill Harry was reported missing, and he lies where he fell to this day, he is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium.
