This skill in signalling led to an appointment on a patrol ship in the North Sea, the SS Manx Isles a steamship used to carry Molases and built in 1905 finally scrapped in Holland after the war.
unfortunatly George contracted pneumonia and passed away in March 1918 at Cromarty Hospital Scotland.
