Frank was the son of the Reverand E. Blair Allen a Wesleyan Minister who was staioned at Chapel Allerton in Leeds.
After atending Leeds Boys Modern Frank went to Bristol to the Kingswood school between 1904 and 1905.
Frank was then attached to a firm of Solicitors in Sunderland and gave up his practice in 1914 at the outbreak of war.
He joined the Durham Light Infantry, and was promoted to Lance Corporal before giving his life in the May of 1915 laying where he fell to this day.

Frank is rememberd on the Menin Gate Memorial Ieper Belgium.
