CHARLES LIES IN PEACE AT THE MORY ABBEY MILITARY CEMETERY
Charles was the only son of John Green Born Leeds 1866 and Laura Hannah Atkinson Born Summerbridge North Yorkshire 1873, they married at Summerbridge in 1891.
On leaving Leeds Charles attended School at the Bilton Grange near Harrogate. On leaving school Charles gained his Law Degree whilst working for Rooke and Midgley Solicitors in Leeds in November 1914.
Charles joined the Leeds University Officer Training Corps and was gazeetted into the West Riding Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery in February 1915.
Charles was posted to France at the beginning of March 1917 and was only there a few weeks before he gave his life in action on the 23rd of that month.
