Arthur was the son of Arthur a furniture dealer Born Leeds 1861 and Clara Heaton Born Wortley Leeds 1862, they married in Leeds in June 1888.
Arthur had younger brothers Edward Born 1892 and Harry Born 1892 and Harry 1890 both at Leeds. harry gave his life on the 10th April 1917 with the 1/7th West Yorkshire Regiment.
Arthur left Leeds Boys Modern and worked in his fathers futniture shop which was in the Brunswick district of Leeds at Grove Terrace.
In 1914 Arthur enlisted into the Royal Army Service Corps and was transfered to the London Regiment and was reported missing on the 21st March 1918 he lies where he fell to this day and is remembered on the Poziers Memorial.
